Resetting your Intermec PX4i

When you reset the printer, you return it to the factory default settings. Resetting the printer removes all files used to store settings. But, it does not reset settings that have already been read when the files. So, wireless communication settings, such as SSID and keys retain their values from the previous start. However, the next reboot resets them to the factory default values.

Resetting the printer also does not change the selected printer language (Fingerprint, IPL, ZSim, or DSim).

Resetting the printer using the keypad

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Open the right cover and lift the printhead.
  • Turn on the printer and press and hold the i key until the printer beeps.
  • Quickly press the down arrow, up arrow, up arrow and left arrow keys in sequence. The following message appears.

  • Within 10 seconds, press the Enter key to reset the printer to factory default settings. The parameters are reset and the Intermec PX4i continues the normal startup process.

Note: If you do not press Enter within 10 seconds, the normal startup process continues and the printer is not reset.
