Electronic Repair Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Carlton Technologies, Inc. – Holland, MI

Our organization is currently seeking new team members in our Technical Service Center. This position within Carlton Technologies, Inc. is responsible for the repair of all of Carlton’s product lines, including barcode scanners, data capture devices, printers, and wireless enterprise mobile devices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting, both physical and software analysis of mobile computing devices
• Electronic repair work including soldering, component level replacement, and board level hot air re-work
• Refurbishment of previously owned hardware
• Completion of special projects assigned by management, i.e. customer specific projects, research and development, quality control
• Staging and configuration of customer specific software and needs
• Efficient and accurate completion of orders to meet customer commitments
• Follow Carlton’s 7-Step Repair Process to ensure delivery of a quality product every time
• Responsibility for accurate parts inventory within work area and for maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Must be able to work in a positive, fast-paced, team environment
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Skills & Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree, GED, required along with 2+ years of related experience and/or training. An Electronics Degree is preferred, but not required.

In addition, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience using electronic testing equipment and tools, i.e. multi-meters, hot air workstations, soldering irons
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Smartphone and tablet repair experience a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and its related products
• Familiarity working with ERP/CRM system
• Inventory management experience preferred
• Knowledge of LTL, UPS WorldShip, and FedEx software interfaces
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and effectively deal with tight deadlines and pressure, planning out each day and staying focused on tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a candidate who is not afraid to ask questions
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently without supervision
• Reliable, dependable attendance is essential
• Team oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn other functions and expand role, if needed

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Work is normally performed in a light industrial environment
• Must be able to lift 30# without assistance on a regular basis
• Must be able to climb ladders and reach above head level
• Must be able to speak and understand English
